# Quick Start Guide for Equipment Financing Embed

This guide provides comprehensive instructions for embedding Tento's Equipment Financing experience into your website, e-commerce store, or application. While Tento offers multiple embeddable products, this guide focuses specifically on the Equipment Financing button and the "As low as" monthly estimate — the pieces you place next to a product to let a business buyer finance it.

# Equipment Financing (EQ) Embed - Implementation Guide

## Requirements

### Prerequisites

Before beginning implementation, ensure you have:

* **Tento Partner Account** with financing access
  * Apply at <https://apply.tento.co/partners>
  * `partnerId` - Your partner ID for referral attribution
  * `x-api-key` - Your private API key (only needed for the optional API steps)
* **Target Platform** - Website, product page, or checkout where the financing option will appear
* **Product Data** - The equipment name/description, an image URL, and the price
* **Technical Knowledge** - Basic understanding of your platform's integration capabilities

### Technical Requirements

* JavaScript integration capability
* HTTPS-enabled website (required for secure data transmission)
* Modern web browser support (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge)

## Implementation Steps

### Step 1: Basic Setup

1. **Add Tento Script** - Include the Tento JavaScript library on your page:

   ```html

   ```

2. **Configure Credentials** - Set up your [Tento credentials](https://docs.tento.com/reference/partner-id-record-referral) so every application is attributed to you:

   ```js
   window.Tento.configure({
     partnerId: 'YOUR_PARTNER_ID',
   })
   ```

### Step 2: Add the Equipment Financing Button

Place the "Finance with Tento" button next to your product using the [Loan application widget](https://docs.tento.com/reference/adding-loan-process-to-your-website):

* `selector` - The DOM element the button renders into
* `financing_amount` - The equipment price (the requested financing amount)
* `equipment_description` / `equipment_image` - Shown inside the application flow so the buyer sees exactly what they are financing

Clicking the button opens Tento's Equipment Financing application flow in a popup window or modal iframe — the buyer never has to leave your store to apply.

> `appendEQFinancingButton` is a convenience wrapper for `window.Tento.appendFinancingButton({ variant: 'finance', ... })` — both launch the Equipment Financing flow. Use `appendFinancingButton` without a variant for the general working-capital flow instead.

1. **Initial Testing** - Use hardcoded values as a proof of concept
2. **Verification** - Confirm the button renders next to your product and opens the application flow

### Step 3: Add the "As Low As" Monthly Estimate (Optional)

Show an instant monthly-payment teaser next to the price to increase conversions:

```

This renders "As low as $X/month" with a **Learn More** link that opens a short explainer and leads the buyer into the application. `productCost` must be a number ≥ 1.

### Step 4: Prefill Buyer Data (Recommended)

If the buyer is logged in to your platform, prefill what you already know — every prefilled field is one the buyer doesn't have to type, which materially improves completion rates:

Prefill is best-effort: any field you omit is simply asked in the flow, and the buyer can correct anything you prefill.

### Step 5: Capture Tento IDs with Identify Events

When the buyer progresses through the flow, Tento emits identify events with the Tento-side IDs you'll need for later API calls (application status, documents, BCM data). Register callbacks via `configure` — see [Identify events](https://docs.tento.com/reference/identify-events-save-ids-for-usage-with-tento-api):

Store the returned IDs in your system — they are the keys for all follow-up [Partner API](https://docs.tento.com/reference/authentication-1) requests.

### Step 6: Testing & Launch

1. **Staging First** - Request [staging environment access](https://docs.tento.com/docs/staging-setup) and use the staging script (`https://scripts.tento.co/embed-stage/embedded.min.js`) to validate end to end without creating production applications
2. **Cross-Platform Testing** - Verify functionality across browsers and devices; confirm popup/modal behavior on mobile
3. **Data Validation** - Confirm prefill accuracy and referral attribution (applications must show your `partnerId`)
4. **Compliance Review** - Conduct security and privacy compliance checks
5. **Production Launch** - Switch to the production script and deploy to your users
